Dale began fishing at an early age, starting with creek chubs and native brook trout in a small freestone creek in northern Lancaster County. The creek was so narrow that it could be jumped over during low flow, which sparked his desire to explore larger waters. When he was old enough to drive, Dale ventured into bigger creeks, ponds, and lakes.
In 1985, Dale and his cousin outfitted a 14-foot John boat with casting decks and a trolling motor, marking the start of his passion for river smallmouth fishing. Over the years, he has fished in Canada, Mexico, Texas, Florida, and throughout the mid-Atlantic, but his favorite spots remain the Juniata and Susquehanna rivers.
Today, Dale pursues river smallmouth bass in a 19-foot, 2022 Jet Boat equipped with a 200 HP Rotax engine, large casting decks, and a 112-pound thrust trolling motor. He is a registered guide with the Pennsylvania Fish Commission, holding all necessary insurance and safety endorsements.
